  The five-minute clip shown of Agent Carter starts off with a D utch angle of Steve, signaling the audience to the uneasiness of the tense situation. After, Steve cuts off with a slight j-cut in the sound that jumps to Peggy who's clearly in denial of Steve's fate. The j-cut shows that Peggy is the only one left alive in this conversation. The screen fades and an edit appear s on the screen to show that one year has passed. The fade shows how everything has changed as she moves from a control room to a police station and is used to not being called up for assignments but still has hope even though it's been three months since she's been there. Peggy now wears a blue outfit which signals her grief over losing her status and Steve. Although the blue is what everyone else wears, it obviously clashes with her personality as it doesn't sit right with her red hair and lipstick like the military's brown outfit did. The main elements of  mise- en - scène  in the film opening, "Sugar Rush" are costuming, acting, and lighting. T he costuming, lighting and several items to help set up the mood for the plot ; f irst , to match the setting of the interview, the prop we used w as a black screen to darken the room and the lighting was unnatural which evokes the viewer's feelings of a serious situation that's on screen. For the costuming, it’s meant to be casual and ha s a reflection on the inhabitants of Everglades Ranch. T he first interviewee wears traditional fishing gear, a rather calm outfit to show how out of the ordinary t he robbery is. The cashier who was interviewe d next has a casual conversation and is more relaxed than the other interviews, showing how he is the type of person to not react much and simply goes with the flow. The last person who is interviewed, is not only anonymous but wears dark colors which symbolizes her very private person ality and preferen

Sound had a significant impact in the opening scene of the mockumentary . Not only does sound in general always create audio appeal and enhance visuals in scenes and makes things such as soundtracks or certain heart stopping scenes unforgettable ; i t also plays the important role of setting the tone . When ominous or tricky situations arise, the musical score or pure silence can clue the viewers in on the buildup and climax, resulting in them unconsciously preparing for it . During the opening sc ene of the mockumentary , the music set the mood for a mystery and heavy topic that was coming up. Without the audio, the voiceover of the news anchor and the clips of the interviews wouldn’t have been as impactful because it wouldn’t set the tone of the mockumentary through their comical lines. In the mockumentary opening scene that my teammates Ernest, Michael, and I made, the main character is the robber. Even though he doesn't get any screen time, he's the center focus of the film. With the other characters in the film opening, the three of us made the choice for them all to have di stinc t and exa ggerated but similar reactions to the robber. This decision was made to get across how different people’s  responses can be to situations such as these , especially in their safe neighborhood . The first reaction was from Bill Lonel y, he was stunned to see what happened while the second reaction from Sam Which was more relaxed, and he wonders why someone would go so crazy over candy. The third reaction from the anonymous witness clues the audience in on the state of shock some of the town residents may be in . The color and lighting of the film my teammates and I made impacted the audience by immersing them into the setting of the town and the unlikely crime that took place . During the duration of the opening sc ene, the exposition shot given is of a bright town that highlights the h ouses that have their own space as well as the lawns and the water surrounding it . The color is vibrant and the lighting gleams as a stylistic choice to show that the  robbery happening in a peaceful neighborhood and a situation like this is out of out of the ordinary . When it comes to the interviews, the dark background accompanied by a soft light is made to resemble an interrogation, th is attribute s to the seriousness of the situation. This is another factor that affects the viewer by solidifying the opening scene as a mockumentary since the actors say ridiculous lines during their interviews.
