Sound

Sound had a significant impact in the opening scene of the mockumentary. Not only does sound in general always create audio appeal and enhance visuals in scenes and makes things such as soundtracks or certain heart stopping scenes unforgettable; it also plays the important role of setting the tone. When ominous or tricky situations arise, the musical score or pure silence can clue the viewers in on the buildup and climax, resulting in them unconsciously preparing for it. During the opening scene of the mockumentary, the music set the mood for a mystery and heavy topic that was coming up. Without the audio, the voiceover of the news anchor and the clips of the interviews wouldn’t have been as impactful because it wouldn’t set the tone of the mockumentary through their comical lines. There aren't many changes that would improve the opening scene but, during the anonymous interview, the music abruptly stops before starting up again, it is distracting and a little editing on the music would improve the scene.
