Main Character

In the mockumentary opening scene that my teammates Ernest, Michael, and I made, the main character is the robber. Even though he doesn't get any screen time, he's the center focus of the film. With the other characters in the film opening, the three of us made the choice for them all to have distinct and exaggerated but similar reactions to the robber. This decision was made to get across how different people’s responses can be to situations such as these, especially in their safe neighborhood. The first reaction was from Bill Lonely, he was stunned to see what happened while the second reaction from Sam Which was more relaxed, and he wonders why someone would go so crazy over candy. The third reaction from the anonymous witness clues the audience in on the state of shock some of the town residents may be in. The characters support the genre and theme because their interviews about the crime is treated seriously, as if they’re in a documentary but their satirical behavior fit into the mockumentary genre.
