Color and Lighting of Film

The color and lighting of the film my teammates and I made impacted the audience by immersing them into the setting of the town and the unlikely crime that took place. During the duration of the opening scene, the exposition shot given is of a bright town that highlights the houses that have their own space as well as the lawns and the water surrounding it. The color is vibrant and the lighting gleams as a stylistic choice to show that the robbery happening in a peaceful neighborhood and a situation like this is out of out of the ordinary. When it comes to the interviews, the dark background accompanied by a soft light is made to resemble an interrogation, this attributes to the seriousness of the situation. This is another factor that affects the viewer by solidifying the opening scene as a mockumentary since the actors say ridiculous lines during their interviews.
